10 Nights Dinner, Bed and Breakfast, Return Ferry Crossing from Hull to Rotterdam in Outside, Level Berth Cabins, Farewell Drink and Mediterranean Style Dinner on last night in Diano Marina, Guided tour in Monaco.
DAY 1 We leave home and travel to Hull for our overnight crossing to Rotterdam.
DAY 2 Depart after breakfast and travel through France to the Dijon area for our next overnight.
DAY 3 Depart the hotel after breakfast and make our way into Italy and onto the resort of Diano Marina our base for the next 6 nights.
DAY 4 We have a day at leisure in the resort of Diano Marina, which is known as the “Jewel” of this region and is set in a wide sweeping bay with safe sandy beaches - it offers elegant shops, restaurants and pavement cafes along its beautiful palm fringed promenade.
DAY 5 Today we head along the coast to Alassio. This former feudal town which belonged to the monks of nearby Isola Gallinara is now one of Italy’s most popular holiday centres. The town’s muretto (little wall) has hundreds of ceramic tiles reproducing the signatures of famous visitors such as Sir Winston Churchill, Ernest Hemingway and Sophia Loren. Why not pay a visit t Alassio’s busy morning market which sells clothing, fruit and vegetables, or visit the many shops and boutiques in the pedestrian area of the town.
DAY 6 On Fridays nearby Ventimiglia hosts an enormous market in the morning and in the afternoon we will visit Menton just over the French border, a popular resort famous for its cultivation of lemons.
DAY 7 A day trip to Monaco and Monte Carlo. Included in your package is a guide to point out all the places of interest in this fairy tale Princedom, an enclave rising from the rocks above the sea, which is famed for its enormous wealth. It owes much of its current success to Prince Rainier and his charming wife Princess Grace, both of whom are buried at Monaco Cathedral. Explore the old town before heading down to the lavish surroundings of Monte Carlo, famous for its casino and street-staged Grand Prix.
DAY 8 Another free day to relax in these beautiful surroundings.
DAY 9 Today we leave the warm mild climate of the Riviera and head back to our overnight hotel in the Dijon area.
DAY 10 After breakfast we make our way to Rotterdam to board our overnight ferry.
DAY 11 We disembark in Hull and make our way homeward.
