Day 1 We leave home and travel to Hull to board our overnight ferry to Rotterdam..
Day 2 We disembark and travel into Germany to our overnight hotel, the Victor’s Residenz-Hotel Saarlouis.
Day 3 After breakfast we travel through Germany and into Switzerland to our base for the next three nights.
Day 4 This morning we embark on a 1 hour guided walking tour of Lucerne. With its lakeside location and striking mountain views, this is a pretty city to wander and
we’ll take in much of its medieval architecture as we stroll. We have the rest of the day at leisure in
Day 5 Today we make tracks for one of Switzerland’s most famed rail rides through the Alps, the magical Glacier Express. We depart from Andermatt late morning, taking our seats beside the train’s vast windows for a 2.5 hour journey to Chur. Our spectacular journey takes us through green landscapes and snow-capped mountains, and along sparkling streams and glistening glaciers for a truly memorable journey. We return to our hotel via coach.
Day 6 This morning we descend the Seelisberg Funicular (not included) to reach Treib pier, where we set sail for a one way cruise from Treib to Weggis along peaceful
Lake Lucerne. Once in Weggis we have free time for lunch while we enjoy the idyllic lake and mountain panorama. Our driver will then meet us here and we will then make our way to Bad Durrheim for the next five nights.
Day 7 A day at leisure to relax, perhaps enjoy the leisure facilities in the hotel or stretch your legs and explore your surroundings, the town centre is less than 10 minutes walk away.
Day 8 Today we head south into the most northerly region of Switzerland. Here we experience the drama and beauty of the magnificent Rhine Falls, one of the
largest waterfalls in Europe. We enjoy a 30 minute boat trip with an audio guide that departs from Schlössli Wörth and sails close to the central rock for which the Falls are so famous. We then make our way to the nearby medieval town of Schaffhausen to explore at leisure.
Day 9 Today we visit the north shore of Lake Titisee, one of Germany’s prettiest lakes, before exploring the town of Titisee-Neustadt itself. We then continue our circular drive to Triberg, where we have some free time to explore. Known for its traditional wood carving shops and cuckoo clocks, this vibrant town also boasts an informative Black Forest Museum and a picturesque 17th century church.
Day 10 Today we drive towards Lake Constance and visit Mainau Island, known for its botanical gardens, the Castle of the Teutonic Order, its butterfly house and Palm House. before we travel the short distance to Constance, a town of great historical relevance and the most important on Lake Constance, to spend some time at leisure.
Day 11 Sadly we leave the Black Forest and make our way back to Rotterdam to board our overnight ferry back to Hull.
Day 12 We disembark in Hull and make our way
