DAY 1 We leave home and travel to Biggar, visiting New Lanark Heritage Site on our way, we will have time to settle in and relax before dinner.
DAY 2 Today we head through beautiful Borders country toward Edinburgh stopping off at the 15th Century Roslyn Chapel, a truly compelling and unique building surviving the turbulent times of the Reformation to the Da Vinci Code as portrayed in the 2003 film. We have the afternoon in Edinburgh returning to the hotel for dinner and entertainment.
DAY 3 Our excursion today takes us to the Borders area
visiting Moffat and then travelling onto Dumfries,
a lovely town to browse the shops or visit the
Robert Burns Centre in Mill Road.
DAY 4 First to Ayr to take in some sea air before heading to nearby Dumfries House, one of Britain’s most beautiful stately homes and best kept heritage secrets with sumptuous interiors and magnificent furnishings all set in two thousand acres of land. In 2007 HRH The Prince of Wales headed a consortium of charities to purchase the House in order to keep this historical jewel intact. Our last night’s dinner tonight followed by entertainment.
